How can I get wearwoolf included in the uniform range at our school?

That's mainly up to you. The first thing you can do is contact us, we can give you information and possibly some promotional material. Then you need to speak to whoever makes the decisions on what the kids in your school wear. It could be someone on staff, or it might be a parent-run committee. But the best thing you can do is get other families interested and involved, because that's when the school will start to pay attention and consider this seriously. If you'd like us to attend a meeting at your school to help things along, we'll certainly try to be there.

Are wearwoolf tops really pure wool?

Yes, most wearwoolf products are made from 100% pure, natural Australian Merino wool. Some of our specialist models will contain a small amount of Lycra (typically between 2 and 3 percent) to improve strength and durability.

So why aren't they itchy?

wearwoolf clothing is made using superfine Merino. Our wool is approximately 18 to 19 microns. If you know anything about wool, you know that's pretty fine. If you don't, consider that it's less than a quarter the thickness of a human hair. The fineness of our raw material, combined with modern manufacturing techniques ensures a garment that is incredibly soft to the touch. Traditional school jumpers are made with much lower grade wool, and are processed without the benefit of our technology, and that's why they have that nasty 'steel wool' feel. Also, by blending wool with such large proportions of acrylic, much of the thermal benefits of wool are lost.

But won't kids overheat running around in warm weather wearing a wool top?

Natural Merino wool has the most extraordinary thermal qualities - as well as keeping warm in winter, wool actually helps the body to cool down in warm weather. The science is pretty complex, but simply put: wool 'breathes'. Synthetics don't, and that's one of the reasons people who wear synthetics sweat and get smelly.

Are they made in Australia?

If you consider that all the material in a wearwoolf top is grown naturally right here in Australia, then you'd have to say that they are Australian-made. But our products are processed and assembled at our partner plant in the Czech Republic, and that's why they carry the 'Made In EU' label. EU stands for European Union, and all factories in the EU must conform to the world's strictest standards on carbon and other pollution emissions, as well as guarantee the rights and safety of their workers.

Why not?

We manufacture wearwoolf in the Czech Republic because it enables us to supply a very high-quality product at a price everybody can afford. Unfortunately we have not found a domestic manufacturer who can match this, although it is our long-term goal to be able to do it all right here. So we would gladly hear from Australian manufacturers who believe they could supply finished product to our standards!
